It helps the looks a little bit. At least from that angle you can't see the dreadfully boring grill as easily, but I can't imagine that lifting it like that would improve the handling very much.

Wow that's a pretty ghetto way of transporting it.

"Huh? Oh yeah, my brudah's got some steel he's gotta haul up deah, we'll just strap yer refresh to the tahp of dat load."

GM Needs to offer the diesel with manual transmission on all models, not just the top LTZ, and bring the hatchback and wagon over here as well! Why not a Cruze SS as well?

I don't know if you've noticed, but GM has been milking old platforms in China for awhile now. Just like VW and everyone else.

So the Cruze can enjoy an Indian Summer in China like a lot of other vehicles in order to hold down costs, since it's manufactured there. But I'm pretty sure we're getting an all-new model in the States in a couple years.

This is just an altered Cruze body. We won't get it, Europe won't get it. Maybe China wont even, which is a good reason as to why it is being transported like that (besides it being in China).
The new Cruze, the one that has been spied in Germany, will be here in 2015 as a 2016MY. It will ride on the new D2XX platform and sport a new 1.5L engine in base form.
With the introduction of the diesel Cruze, and sales doing better year-over-year for the car, GM pushed it's replacement back. Also citing engineering changes (they don't want a Malibu problem again, or Honda's Civic issue, and maybe now Toyota's Corolla).

This is the closest shot of the 2016
